2018 Holy Land Pilgrimage Reviews
Dorothy and David,
A thousand thanks for a lovely and spiritually enriching pilgrimage to the Holy Land. This one was undoubtedly the best for me out of all the other ones I’ve taken over the years. I was especially touched by the dungeon that Jesus was thrown in overnight after his capture. I had never seen it before with previous itineraries. And, certainly, the opportunity to celebrate the Mass inside the tomb of Jesus was the highlight. I rely on the many graces we have received as the days march forward.
Thanks for your many kindnesses to this bishop,
Thank you Dorothy and Dave,
I cannot say enough good things about my experience on the Ave Maria Pilgrimage. I felt that from start to finish the pilgrimage was well-organized, spiritual and even transcendent at times. Plus it was just a lot of fun. Whoever put the itinerary together could not have done a better job. My mother and I really appreciated the hard work that you, Bishop Perry and Deacon Dan put into planning the masses, readings and homilies that gave us a better understanding of the holy sites we visited. As Hussam, requested, I’ve been telling all my friends that hey have to visit the Holy Land. As a Christian there is no better place on earth to be fully present with God.
Thank you again for all your help dealing with our travel woes. Without you, we never would have had this unforgettable week!
Yes! I miss you all as well! What a wonderful pilgrimage we had! Ditto with thankfulness to Dorothy & David for organizing, Bishop & Deacon for bringing Jesus, body, blood, soul & divinity, and Husam for his loving guidance throughout. Yes to another pilgrimage. 🙂
Photos are terrific to share with family & friends! You are in my prayers and grateful for your friendship!
Hello everyone, I missed everyone already! I hope everyone is home enjoying the pictures of the trip. I would like to thank Dorothy and David for this wonderful trip! I also like to thank Bishop and Deacon for coming with us and helping us receiving Jesus! Also, I am so thankful for our wonderful guide, Husam, with his passion, his love and his knowledge of our faith! I want you to know that you are all in my prayer!!!! Hopefully, we can reunite again for another pilgrimage! 🙂
Hello to all,
It was a pleasure to be on such an amazing pilgrimage with all of you.
Best wishes to all of you!
The pilgrimage was a once in a lifetime experience that I will treasure forever. My heartfelt thanks to David & Dorothy for taking good care of us and being very patient with everybody. You are really great. Thank you so much to Bishop Perry and to Deacon Dan for their spiritual guidance and to Hussan for being such a good teacher and leader, an inspiration to all of us. I love all of you my new friends and I really miss you. Hope to see some of you on the 13th of August at the shrine.
Take care and God bless,
First I thank God for His love and mercy especially for the opportunity and blessing to visit the land of His birth. I couldn’t have ask more. It was an amazing trip an awesome experience to come in terms with all that we read in the bible especially the New Testament. A real life experience, I see myself reading the New Testament Bible in eight days. Each site gives one a deep feeling to appreciate more the work of God in our Salvation history. The magnitude of His love for mankind that made Him go through all that in the hands of His own creature. Is it the Nativity, Sea of Galilee, Jordan, Holy Sepulchre and many others, it a place to visit for every Christians especially Catholics. It is also a wonderful group, ever looking out for each other and so caring. My room mate Dee is one of the most beautiful and wonderful woman I have ever meet in life, may God bless and keep her.The memory of it will remain with me for life, May God bless us all. Thank you David and Dorothy and all of you for your cooperation.

Father Dennis said he had been touched in a very special way by this particular pilgrimage.
To think that pilgrimages were given out as penances to sinners. Ours was a reward! We saw so much and yet it never felt stressful or burdensome. Our hotels were charming, the food exquisite, and the sights magnificent. We could not have asked for a better guide and you, Dorothy, constantly saw to everyone’s needs and comfort. You clearly did not get the memo that a pilgrimage is supposed to be uncomfortable!
Best trip this side of heaven!
“The Poland Pilgrimage was wonderful. It was well planned, a good pace and gave me time to take in the places we visited. I really appreciate all of the work you do to make sure we all can have a wonderful, spiritual experience. I look forward to the next opportunity to travel with Ave Maria Pilgrimages.”
The Pilgrimage to Poland was the first organized tour I had ever been on. When I initially read the itinerary, I was quite impressed by the selection of Shrines and cities to visit. As the tour progressed, I was overwhelmingly impressed by the logistics that made it all possible.
Fr. Kolinski was impressive with his knowledge of the country, Shrines and the Polish people. Dorothy, you excelled at keeping us all together and on the right path while expanding our knowledge of the Polish language and culture. Even our excellent bus driver contributed to the overall impression of a well-coordinated tour.
The pilgrims, themselves, enhanced the enjoyment with their enthusiasm, piety and friendliness. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Now I know why people have repeated this pilgrimage. I hope to do so in the future. Perhaps what I found most captivating, was a glimpse into the love of the Blessed Mother for the Polish people.
I do want to thank you for all that you do to make our pilgrimages safe and enjoyable. I marveled at your care for us – from staying with and helping someone whose luggage didn’t make it to Poland, to a man whose passport was about to expire and had to initially travel separate from the group, to running several blocks (literally) back to a church where one of our group had forgotten her purse. You are a true mother to all who travel with you and I for one am very grateful for all that you do. May God bless you abundantly, for you are a living example of charity and mercy.
I have been meaning to contact you to thank you for such a wonderful trip. You made the journey so enjoyable and relaxing. We very much appreciated your patience, concern, and your adeptness at the Polish language and culture. For us at the end of the day, we could go to our room and relax. But I imagine that you had several nights preparing, arranging and looking out after us. Thank you for all of those efforts. You made it look so simple!
I would do this trip again in a minute!!
Thanks again, Dorothy!
Thank you for being the sweet shepherdess that you are! We felt your loving and selfless concern throughout this entire pilgrimage. As our prayers and personal devotions at the various sites and through each day, left us a little closer to our Lord, we sense you being there right along with us, helping to make these moments in Poland change us in ways only to be realized in years to come.
Our prayers tonight are offered in thanksgiving to Our Lord for you.
Our love and appreciation,
2019 Fatima and Spain Pilgrimage
Happy Thanksgiving, Dorothy! Hope you had a great day.
Now that the house is quiet and the guests have all left, we have a few moments of solitude to reflect on all the blessings in our lives. The pilgrims we remember today are not the ones from Plymouth with the tall black hats and buckled shoes. They are our fellow travelers, the pilgrims on their way to meet Our Lord. It was a privilege to travel and pray with them, and with you.
When we were asked to lead a decade of the Rosary at Fatima, our response was an immediate yes. It wasn’t until we were actually standing at the apparition site, rosaries in hand, that we were awestruck by the immensity of this honor. Here, our Blessed Mother appeared to three little children who followed her faithfully. We know Mary is calling us too, to follow the children, and to lead others to pray the Rosary.
Our Camino was a beautiful reminder of how God is all around us, all the time. The cows came to greet us with their bells gently sounding a hello to encourage us as we walked along. The pilgrim who was returning from Santiago de Campostela offered us positive words and a greeting of Buen Camino. Walking in the peaceful countryside supported by you and our fellow pilgrims reminded us that we are all on a journey, and we are not alone. We were filled with hope and determination. Tired feet didn’t deter us, nor rain, nor steep hills, because we could feel the presence of Our Lord. Our rewards included hugging the statue of Saint James, and celebrating the Pilgrim’s Mass with people from all over the world.
This year, it was very easy to realize our many blessings. Thank you, and we thank God and Mary for you and for all in the Blue Army.
